Vegan vs. Fair Treatment

So, I’ve been on this food journey for a while where I’m essentially tranfering towards being more and more picky about where my food comes from. I decided to become pescatarian to start, in which I only ate red meats if they were certified USDA organic, because currently my main issue isn’t that animals die for nourishment, but rather how they are treated during that process, which is extremely inhumane and I won’t support it. This means I rarely eat those kinds of meat obviously, which hasn’t been that difficult. But now I am hearing how much torture larger fish go through, for example tuna. AND, of course the sustainability of fishing is an issue. So, more or less I’m considering going vegan when eating out, unless again I can verify where my food came from, which rarely occurs, or unless I know if the fish were atlantic vs. pacific, or not on the brink of extinction, etc. I’m curious if there are others that think along the same lines as me and if so, what do you do? Can anyone tell me more, or direct me to some good links as far as treatment of larger fish and/or types of fish that are endangered and types that are okay?
